Ricco was surrendered to a rural shelter with about 20 other dogs from a home where things got out of control. Ricco is fearful and very dramatic when he experiences new things. Once he is comfortable, the drama decreases. He is doing well learning to walk on a leash, OK with cats, and showing signs that he's house trained. He sleeps quietly in his crate all night. Ricco is affectionate and likes to sit next to his person, but wants to become possessive. Living in his foster home, he is showing progress in overcoming his possessive tendency, but will require a home where he gets consistent reinforcement to encourage positive behavior. Ricco will be leery of new people coming into the house and may be "barky". Because of his fear reactions, he will do best in a home with no young children and will thrive in a home with a confident dog. Ricco has a ton of potential and is showing great progress toward becoming the well balanced dog that he wants to be. Can you help him become that dog?
