Dama, which means "lady" in Spanish, is a very cute, gray colored 5 year old Chihuahua. She was rescued from a local shelter where someone turned her in since they had too many dogs. Dama loves to sit in your lap and will nuzzle your hand for petting. She loves other dogs and has integrated nicely with the foster parents' two Pitbulls. She hangs out with them sunning on the deck or relaxing in the house. She doesn't play with the big dogs too much since we think she is intimidated by their size, but she does want to play with smaller dogs. She is crate trained and house trained with no accidents in the house. Dama walks perfectly on leash and loves going for walks. She can keep up with the big dogs for 45 minute walks, although the heat can get to her on those hot days. Dama can be nervous and little apprehensive when new people come into the house and if ignored it doesn't take to long for her to warm up to strangers. She has been very friendly meeting children at the event but due to her nervousness with new people in the house we currently recommend a house with older children. You can meet Dama on most Saturdays at the Petco adoption event.
