Oreo is a really sweet little guy who deserves a great home. He was given up by his first home because of his heart condition and she knew she could not provide the care he needed. Oreo was born with a genetic heart defect called Pulmonic Stenosis. This means that one of his heart valves was very constricted - like a kink in a hose - and caused blood to back up in his hart, putting pressure on his heart. Oreo had surgery to correct this defect but unfortunately suffered a cardiac episode during surgery which may have caused some scarring. Oreo had his surgery in October, but we won't know the full success of his surgery until February when he gets a follow up with the cardiologist. It is possible that Oreo will need to be on blood pressure medication throughout his life (which is inexpensive) and may require annual visits to the cardiologist. Oreo is very affectionate, bonds easily, and has no outward symptoms of heart issues. It is very possible, and even likely that he will live a full long life as long as he lives in a calm loving home. Oreo will only attend adoption events on request.
