Poor Pineapple lost his home when he was evacuated to avoid the dangers of Hurricane Matthew. He ended up in a shelter, but was labeled "unadoptable" because he growled at the shelter workers evaluating his behavior. A kind shelter worker with a love for Pomeranians felt this little guy was just afraid and misunderstood. On her second visit to Pineapple's cage, the sweet little boy showed his true character-he crawled into her lap and let her stroke and love on him. Fearful that Pineapple would be euthanized on the "unadoptable" list, the worker reached out to HART to see if we could take him.

We are so glad Pineapple is now part of the HART family! This little Pom loves nothing more than being held! He was probably an only dog in his previous family as he is not fond of most dogs. He just wants all the attention for himself! He also was not getting much medical attention in his previous family. Pineapple has been diagnosed with alopecia X, a condition known to affect his breed but very treatable with medication. The main symptom of alopecia X is hair loss, but the medication he is on now may likely help the fur he has lost grow back. Right now Pineapple's hair loss is just on his rear, but we think he's pretty darn cute anyway! Nothing a stylish winter jacket and Pomeranian swagger can't cure! So, come to a HART adoption event to meet our Pineapple-he puts on a tough act, but he's nothing but sweet on the inside!
