Don is a very loving little lap dog who lives to be petted! He would love a home where he would spend his days snuggled in someone's lap and getting belly rubs and head scratches. When you pet him, he closes his eyes and you can see on his face how happy he is (like in the picture)! He is a curious dog and likes meeting new people. He bonds quickly with his people and will follow you around the house. He would love to be in a home with another dog but it seems like he cares most about being with people. Don is also quiet and walks well on a leash. He seems to be house trained.
Don came to HART from South Carolina. He didn't understand how he ended up in a high kill shelter with a cold kennel run as his home. His owner, who we believe loved him, was deported in February and had no time to even find a home for him. Don is happy to be back in a home with his foster mom, but he is still looking for his forever home where he will be safe and loved forever.
