Calabash is as sweet as they come! It's clear that before coming to HART, Calabash, or Callie as her foster mom calls her, was forced to bear litter after litter of pups. She was then abandoned at a high kill shelter in SC, tossed aside like yesterday's newspaper after she was no longer useful. Callie was hours away from being euthanized at the shelter, which would have been tragic, because this girl will make some lucky person or family incredibly happy. When HART received a message from one of our rescue partners begging us to take her, we couldn't say no.
Callie is in a foster home with other dogs, cats, teenagers, and even an iguana, and she gets along beautifully with everyone. Callie would love a home with a person or family who would take her on leisurely walks, provide lots of snuggling time, and would cherish her for the sweet, devoted companion she is.
