Meet Colby - an incredibly intelligent and sweet dog who loves to be around his people. He already knows several tricks - sit, down, leave it, go to your bed, and heel, and is very much food motivated so will be easy to teach him even more tricks. He is house broken and crate trained, and does not chew on anything that doesn't belong to him. He loves going for long walks and makes an excellent jogging partner! He also doesn't bark much, unless someone is at the door. He does get nervous around new people (especially men), and will need an owner who is willing to keep up with his training and socialization to build his confidence. While it takes him a short while to warm up to strangers, once he trusts you, you're a friend for life! Because of this, we recommend a home with older children that will be gentle and calm around animals. He gets along well with most dogs, but does have somewhat of a prey drive, so probably shouldn't be around cats or other little critters. He loves tennis balls and can also entertain himself for hours throwing his toys around. He is a very playful, affectionate boy who will make some person or family very lucky!
