Argo has followed a tough road with many ups and downs, but he is ready for a new owner and new place to call "home". He is extremely loyal, fun-loving and will follow his new owner to the end of the world and back. He knows a bunch of commands: "sit", "down", "leave it", "heel", "fetch", "stay", and "go to your bed". There is nothing he won't do for a treat, and loves to go for long walks or just lay by your feet. He is very food-motivated and has learned to sit and wait before getting his food. He does well with this, but he is protective of his food, and will need to be watched closely around food, small children and other animals. Unfortunately, Argo spent many of his first, impressionable years, locked away alone in a basement in a crate. He had very little socialization with dogs or people, and was fed infrequently, almost starving to death. He can be wary of strangers and other dogs, as he is still learning to trust those he doesn't know. He will need somebody who gives him guidance and patience. Argo is incredibly smart, eager to please, and absolutely loves to learn new tricks! Argo is currently excelling in an advanced tracking class, learning the art of search and rescue for fun, and hopefully he will start an intermediate obedience course soon. Please give this great boy a chance. He deserves a loving home to call his own and you will have a loyal and faithful companion for life!
