Waylon is a beautiful 1 1/2 yo beagle. Waylon was picked up off the streets by a good citizen who knew he needed help. So she brought him straight to TCF. Where we discovered he was INFESTED with ticks...hundreds of ticks, and to top it all off maggots had burrowed into his skin, creating holes and pockets in his now very infected hot spots. And he had an eye ulcer that had taken up almost his entire left eye. Waylon laid lifeless as two staff members soaked and pulled ticks off of him for a mind numbing 2 and a half hours. And the job was still not done. Waylon was taken to the vet and treated for dehydration, anemia, and a few tick borne illnesses. Despite all odds, Waylon has made an 110% recovery. His hair is growing back, his weight has gone up, and miraculous of all his eye is almost as good as new! Waylon is a quiet boy who enjoys the company of other dogs. He can be shy around people at the first greeting. But will relax after a few moments. This boy was a fighter, even after most hope was thought to be lost. He really has earned his second chance.
