Cody

December 2014

It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you of the passing of our beloved dog Cody. We adopted Cody, from HART, 12 years ago when he was just 3 months old and was named Brewster. HART rescued him from a shelter, along with his brother & sister, where he was born in Fauquier County. Cody was a mixed breed, Black Lab & Coon Hound but most people thought he was just a really big Black Lab. We often referred to Cody as being an "anti-retriever" because he never cared to chase a ball or a stick or anything (except for cats and the occasional squirrel) for that matter. He didn't care much for water but loved playing in the snow. He was a very sweet and even tempered dog who enjoyed being around people and especially children. Cody was a fun loving big dog that enjoyed life and barking out of the window at anyone who went by. At the dog park he never got into a fight and always preferred to stay on the outside of a skirmish and bark at all of the other contestants.

He was a good watch dog and a great companion.
We'd like to thank the people at the Pet Medical Center of Springfield (VA) who provided him with the very best medical care his whole life and made his passing as dignified as possible. They gave us much needed support at the end of his days. And we'd like to thank HART for giving Cody a chance at life and bringing us all together.

Cody was and always will be a member of our family and will be missed very much.
