Jean is a sweet, trusting, affectionate and playful cattle dog. Like most dogs of her breed, she has quite a bit of energy. She loves running around, going for long walks and playing with her toys. Despite her high energy and enthusiasm for horsing around, she's a quiet dog. She's not big on barking, but will let out the occasionally 'Woof!' if she feels like she needs to protect you on a walk, or gets very excited. However, once she's all tired out, she can be quite the couch potato. She loves to hop up next to you in bed or on a couch and just settle in for some quality cuddle and nap time.
She loves people and isn't a huge fan of being alone. She would do best in a home with an active family (with older children) and a fenced-in backyard to run around in. She can be crated if necessary, but she prefers not to be. At first, it would be best if she had pretty constant contact with her new family, the most she would prefer to be left alone is two or three hours only. She's very friendly when meeting other dogs, but can get a little excited and jumpy in making new friends. She is VERY treat motivated and very smart! She knows basic commands such as 'sit' and 'down' and is house trained. With a little bit of effort and patience, you can probably train this dog to do almost anything! Once you meet this girl, you'll know she's a wonderful addition to any family!
