Lady came to us from a very over-crowded shelter in North Carolina where she so impressed the shelter staff that they kept her well passed her euthanasia date, trying to find a home for her. Finally, they had no choice and just before Lady's luck had really run out, HART stepped in to save this very sweet, affectionate girl. She is about as friendly as she can be, and has never met a stranger.
Her foster dad says "Lady is a very sweet dog who has a lot of love to give. She absolutely loves cuddles and belly rubs. She knows how to sit and is getting the hang of the command "come" when she's on the leash. She is crate trained, and she appears to be housetrained. So far there have been no accidents in the house except for 1 small accident on day 1 when she got excited but other then that she's had a spotless bathroom record. She has been great around the other dogs in the house and likes to give kisses. She doesn't seem to enjoy pouncing around and playing with other dogs but she is perfectly fine when a dog is not instigating to play. Overall, an extremely sweet dog with lots of love to give."
Lady will be a fantastic companion for a loving, doting family and could be a great companion to another laid back dog who likes to hang out with a doggy friend without the usual rough-housing. She loves to go for walks around the neighborhood, or hang out in the back yard investigating smells, but her absolute favorite thing is getting lots of cuddles and snuggles from her family.
