Daenerys - Adopted on 1/3/2015

Daenerys (Dany) is a true survivor whos spirit refused to be broken. At only 1 yr old she ended up in a local shelter as a victim in a cruelty case. Her 3 5 mo old pups were found running next to a busy highway with no ID & a neighbor called to inform AC where they lived & said they heard the dogs getting beat regularly. When AC arrived, they found a filthy backyard with Dany & a male tied out on 3 ft chains. They had no food & inadequate water. Their ears were riddled with fly strike. The pups escaped because part of the fence was held up by only a cinder block! All 5 were seized. Despite this awful background, Dany's sweet nature continued to shine. She loves attention & will roll on her back for belly rubs, give gentle kisses & comes when called. She is housebroken, quiet, walks well on a leash, knows sit & paw & is crate trained. She does great in the home- fine with stairs, does not beg for food, counter-surf, or get on furniture. She can be timid & would do best with a gentle, calm, understanding household who will continue to help build her confidence. She is medium energy in the home, but would be happy to accompany her family on walks, hikes or even a jog. She has been in a happy home environment now for close to 3 yrs- is being fostered with 3 other dogs, male & female & has also lived with a child (newborn-9 months). She was recently returned for hopping a 4 ft fence, so will need supervision outside. Don't miss your chance to meet this very special girl.
