Katniss is a gorgeous, gentle lady. Even though she is still a puppy, Katniss is an 'old soul' & is extremely well behaved. She is crate trained (& sleeps through the night), house broken, and rides well in a car. She is very quiet. She walks well on the leash for the most part, but her age can show with some pulling when she sees squirrels or birds. She is medium to medium low energy & is full grown at a nice size of ~40lb, which would work well for most all types of households. Katniss gets along great with other dogs and ignores the cat in her household. Her favorite activity is chasing her foster brother around and wrestling with him. She is very treat motivated and smart, and therefore learns quickly. She learned the command 'sit' in a day & is now working on her other basic commands. She also is very responsive to correction. She can be extremely shy when first meeting new people, so is looking for a patient and gentle family who is willing to give her the time to get to know them. Because of this shyness we feel she'd do best in a home without young children & ideally with a confident dog to help her continue to build her own confidence. Once she is comfortable enough with her humans though, which can happen in a matter of days, she is a very loving girl, who will crawl on top of you and shower you with kisses.
